December 21 came and went without so much as a whiff of a storm or a meteor or any sort of world-ending event, thus proving any media hysteria over the supposed "end of the world" completely false.
However, at least one prankster thought it might be fun to give people the impression that the world actually was ending, and got a surprising number of people to believe him, while capturing the whole thing on-camera. MSN Now has linked the video, which shows multiple people being taken in by completely false secondhand accounts of Tsunamis hitting New York and Georgia:
