Barbara Walters selected Honey Boo Boo as one of the past year’s “10 Most Fascinating People’’ — alongside Prince Harry and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie. The circus freak show drew ratings equal to Bill Clinton’s bravura speech at the Democratic National Convention.
It proves that the current American thirst for deviance, ignorance and the crass exploitation of minors knows no bottom. And that child-welfare authorities are reluctant to intervene when the cameras are rolling.
