Residents of Jackson, Mississippi, are feeling the love in the days leading up to Valentine's Day, especially after Hinds County Sheriff Tyrone Lewis paid for this billboard greeting:
The Clarion-Ledger reports that the billboard has gotten the attention of neighbors:
If red roses, assorted chocolates, a sharp suit and a Valentine-themed pocket square don’t make a woman feel safe, a sheriff’s badge should seal the deal.Jackson motorists driving near Beasley Road take note of a message from your local Hinds County Sheriff’s Tyrone Lewis, who wants to wish his constituents a Happy Valentine’s Day, via billboard.
“It’s an opportunity to give back to the community,” Lewis’ spokesperson, Othor Cain, said of the advertisement.
As sheriff, Lewis pays for the billboard advertisements out of his own pocket and apparently has plans to run similar ads for Mother's Day, Father's Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
