Newt finds it 'bizarre' that Fox News took him 'to pieces

Media

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich is still pointing a finger at Fox News as one of the reasons his campaign for president failed.

"The news media just took me to pieces, particularly Fox," Gingrich told The Daily Beast. "I found that bizarre. These are people I’d been with for years." Gingrich was a contributor at Fox for several years before his contract was terminated due to his decision to run for president.

Of the news media in general... Gingrich said "the greatest frustration" of his campaign was "the inability to get the media to take seriously that there could be an alternative politics.”

He made similar comments about Fox while addressing a tea party group last April. "In our experience, [my wife] Callista and I both believe CNN is less biased than Fox this year," he said at the time. "We are more likely to get neutral coverage out of CNN than we are of Fox, and we're more likely to get distortion out of Fox. That's just a fact."
