Tonight’s Real History chronicles the space race and how -- after Kennedy took over from Eisenhower -- the program took on a singular focus: beating Russia to the moon.
President John F. Kennedy did not have the vision that his predecessor Dwight D. Eisenhower had, who saw the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) working as a military/civilian partnership striving for a longer vision of space exploration.
The space program, as it stands now, is a cul de sac, as "Real News" the narrator puts it.
