CNN's 'The Point' to offer viewers more Donny Deutsch

CNN is in the process of remaking itself. That evidently involves more Donny Deutsch.

The professional brander and ubiquitous opinionator has been named co-host of The Point, a new CNN show starting Monday night, replacing the 10 p.m. ET rerun of Anderson Cooper 360. Deutsch is often seen on MSNBC's Morning Joe and NBC's Today talking about anything that's handed to him.

The show, billed right now as simply "a week of special programming" will also feature... Republican Strategist/CNN contributor Margaret Hoover and ESPN's Rick Reilly and Jason Taylor.

Judging from The Point's Twitter account, the show may be something like Fox News's The Five and MSNBC's The Cycle, news-of-the-day talk shows.

From The Hollywood Reporter:

CNN confirms that right now, The Point is a week of special programming. But sources at the network say that it is part of broader experimentation at the network aimed at revitalizing the lineup - and not just at 10 p.m.
