Disgraced politician and Democratic New York mayoral candidate Anthony Weiner was confronted by a voter during a small gathering in Brooklyn over the sexting scandal that cost him his House seat two years ago. Another political activist reportedly told Weiner he was "outraged and disgusted" by him.

The voter, Jessie Strauss, said "we can't have our politicians going around and apologizing all the time," BuzzFeed reports.

Weiner didn't back down, saying "if you believe that my personal failings disqualify me, don't vote for me."

He then rolled his eyes when Strauss told him he would be supporting Bill de Blasio's campaign.

"That's a surprise," Weiner said sarcastically.

After some crosstalk, Weiner then informed the voter that he was "gonna win this election…And I’m gonna govern this city really well. And I’m gonna do it based on a foundation of Democratic ideals, and I’m gonna do it on a foundation of progressive values, and I’m gonna do it smart."

However, things reportedly got heated when Chris Owens, a Brooklyn political activist and former Democratic candidate for Congress, too confronted the politician over his past sexting scandal. Weiner also reportedly shouting at one point during the Brooklyn gathering.

“I have a three-word question: How dare you?” Owens said. “I’m a parent. I’ve got two sons. I represent the Democratic party. I am outraged and disgusted by you."

He continued with his blistering critique: “I want to understand how you explain to us how you used a public facility to tweet offensive material to individuals who may have included minors, you did not know…You then lied about it, and tried to defend yourself, and then you come back — not even four or eight years later; you come back after two years — and you expect us to embrace you because you have good ideas?"

Attempting to downplay the scandal, Weiner accused him of "grandstanding" over old issues.

Unfortunately, there was no video of the incident readily accessible. However, this story will be updated with video should it become available.
