Australian Prime Minister Not Amused With Radio Host's Questions About Her Boyfriend's Sexual Orientation
June 13, 2013
Bit personal there.
Meet Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard:
Prime Minister Gillard is dating a professional hairdresser named Tim Mathieson:

And here's something interesting: Because Mathieson is a hairdresser, rumors persist that he might be gay. Because, you know, all hairdressers are gay (yeah, we don’t get it either).
Now meet Howard Sattler, the Australian radio host who asked Prime Minister Gillard about Mathieson’s rumored homosexuality:
Gillard responded to his question by saying it was “absurd.” But Sattler persisted, implying that Mathieson’s profession as a hairdresser may lend credibility to the rumors.
This is how Gillard responded:
... to all the hairdressers out there, including the men who are listening, I don't think in life one can actually look at a whole profession, full of different human beings, and say “Gee, we know something about everyone of those human beings' ... it's absurd isn't it?”
Still, Sattler continued in his line of questioning -- and was promptly suspended by his superiors after the interview, according to ABC News:
MORAL OF THE STORY: Don’t badger your country's leader with questions about the sexual orientation of their significant other.
