Anthony Weiner Caught In Another Sexting Scandal!

UPDATE: He apologizes...kind of

[Author's note: the following story contains explicit content. Readers are advised to proceed with caution.]

UPDATE 2:40 pm ET -- Former Congressman and Democratic candidate for mayor of New York City Anthony Weiner responds:

I said that other texts and photos were likely to come out, and today they have. As I have said in the past, these things that I did were wrong and hurtful to my wife and caused us to go through challenges in our marriage that extended past my resignation from Congress.

While some things that have been posted today are true and some are not, there is no question that what I did was wrong. This behavior is behind me. I've apologized to Huma and am grateful that she has worked through these issues with me and for her forgiveness. I want to again say that I am very sorry to anyone who was on the receiving end of these messages and the disruption that this has caused. As my wife and I have said, we are focused on moving forward.

See what he did there? He failed to specify whether the new scandal took place before or after his 2011 nude picture fiasco. Remember, after he was caught in 2011, he promised everyone he would repair his marriage and stop messing around.

Weiner's wife, Huma Abedin, gave birth to their first child in 2011. This new scandal supposedly took place in 2012.

Is this the end of Weiner's much-publicized comeback? Or do you think he still has a shot at becoming the next mayor of New York City?

UPDATE II 3:32 pm ET -- The site that broke the story [warning at link!] of the new Weiner scandal has just published a new explicit photo of the disgraced former congressman (not posting it here, folks) and a timeline of the tawdry affair (according to the anonymous woman involved):

  • Anthony Weiner And I First started talking July 12, 2012.
  • July 19th, 2012 Anthony Weiner found me on Formspring (as seen in the attached screenshots).

  • Things were very intense by August 2012/already talks of the Chicago sex condo and having sexual conversations. We would send naked images to each other and have phone sex. Anthony Weiner would send me penis pictures from his Carlos Danger yahoo email to my Gmail.
  • By November 2012 our relationship began to fizzle out.
  • We only spoke once in December 2012, and then I didn’t hear from Anthony Weiner again until April 11, 2013 when a NYT article about him was released. He reactivated his Facebook and asked me what I thought of it.

Gross.

Is disgraced former New York Congressman Anthony Weiner really this incorrigible?

Did he really engage in lewd online behavior after thenotorious nude picture scandal that momentarily ousted him from politics?

That's what the popular gossip site TheDirty is [content warning at the link] alleging.

Recent screen shots of sexually explicit online chat sessions posted by the gossip site on Monday show Weiner may have struck again -- all after he fessed up to steamy online relationships in 2011.

“My source is solid. She really thought Anthony Weiner and her were in love, they spoke on the phone daily multiple times a day for 6 months,” The Dirty reports.

“Anthony Weiner played with her emotions and mind. Most calls were phone sex. He promised her many things including a condo in Chicago…where they were planning to meet up to have sex,” the report adds.

The site goes on to mention that the former congressman apparently has a shoe fetish. He especially digs heels. It also states that more material (possibly more explicit photosWeiner's ... genitalia) is on its way.

“I know my source wasn’t the only girl he lured online,” the report notes.

Weiner allegedly carried on the tawdry online relationship until at least August 2012. He wrote under the pseudonym “Carlos Danger."

"Carlos Danger"? Really?

Below are just a few of the alleged communications between Weiner (grey boxes) and the anonymous woman [content warning: the following conversations are lewd, crude, and totally gross considering Wiener may have been involved -- parts have been redacted]:

thedirty.com

As with all sex scandals and supposed "smoking guns," the above messages and the claim that Wiener may have been involved should be taken with a grain salt.

However, here’s something weird: BuzzFeed reached out to Weiner’s people multiple times early Tuesday morning for comment and have yet to hear back from the former congressman's office.

“Anthony Weiner’s campaign did not respond Tuesday to repeated inquiries about a new set of unverified images suggesting that he exchanged sexually charged messages — and an explicit image — with a woman last summer,” BuzzFeed’s Ben Smith writes.

Again, bear in mind the above screenshots have not yet been confirmed.

Also, as Smith notes, the screen shots of the exchanges “are undated…and whether they could be shown to have taken place before or after Weiner’s 2011 fall — before which he has said he had other, yet undisclosed, online relationships — is a key question.”

Smith points out a few more details worth noting:

Weiner’s blank avatar in one chat matches his blank avatar in images posted by Radar Online during the 2011 scandal that ended his Congressional career…other images show an avatar of Weiner and his wife, Huma Abedin. These details do not guarantee, however, that the screenshots are authentic.

[…]

BuzzFeed contacted Weiner’s spokeswoman, Barbara Levin, at 7:21 a.m. Tuesday about the postings, which went online Monday, asking whether they are real. She responded before 9:00 a.m. and then replied three more times that she would respond soon.

Weiner is currently running for mayor of New York City.
