The Amazing Boxing Knockout in Slow-Mo That You'll Probably Watch Again and Again
August 20, 2013
"The Brooklyn came out of me, and I got him out of there."
Boxer Danny Jacobs was back in the ring again with vicious intensity after battling cancer for two years. But it's not quite Jacobs you might feel sorry for after you see the slow-motion footage of the KO punch he landed on Giovanni Lorenzo.
USA Today has two animated gifs of the third-round knock-out from Monday's 10-round middleweight fight in New York -- one in real time, the other in slow-motion.
The knock-out looks pretty solid in real time, but take a look at it in slow-motion and it's positively cringe-worthy. Sweat goes flying off Lorenzo upon the impact and the skin on his face contorts itself with the movement brought on by Jacobs' fist.

Although Lorenzo tried to get up after the blow, he couldn't recover.
"The Golden Child's" victory over Lorenzo was his sixth consecutive win -- his fourth since being diagnosed with a cancerous tumor on his spine two years ago. The tumor was removed and Jacobs underwent radiation, according to USA Today.
"He was strong. But once he hit me with a left hook, I thought, OK, lets go. The Brooklyn came out of me, and I got him out of there," Jacobs said of his opponent after the KO.
The fight was aired on the new Fox Sports 1.
