Glenn Beck Dissects Move by Obama on Syria That He Says May Amount to 'Treason

"What else do you need for impeachment?"

Glenn Beck asked on Tuesday why exactly we are not discussing treason or impeachment with regard to the president's recent decision to waive restrictions under a federal law that prohibits arming terrorists.

"Just so we are all clear on this, let me read article 3, section 3 of the U.S. Constitution about treason," Beck said.  "Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying war against them, or adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort."

Beck noted that he recently said in a New York Times article that he has never called for the impeachment of President Obama.

"At the time I said that, I suspected that we were giving aid and comfort and weapons to Al Qaeda, but I was still holding out some sort of hope that you could never really prove it, I guess, he wasn't knowingly doing it," Beck said.  "But by him waiving this law, he has admitted that he knows he is giving aid and comfort to a global terrorist organization, because there's no other reason to waive that law!"

"This president, John McCain, Lindsey Graham, and John Boehner, and anyone else who stands for giving aid and comfort, military support to Al Qaeda in Syria, should be impeached," Beck declared. "Notice there's Republicans and Democrats, so it's clearly not about party."

He also added that it's not about color, because you have black, white, and "strangely, orange."

Beck noted that the president can waive the law and engage in military action if Syrian President Bashar al-Assad was determined to be an immediate threat to the United States -- but the president made it very clear that he is not in an interview with CNN.

"So why is it we're going to war, Mr. President? Why is it you are giving comfort and aid to Al Qaeda?  Because [Assad] is not a threat, and it's a lose-lose situation.  What possible good can come out of starting World War III?"

"He's taking guns away from the people while giving guns to Al-Qaeda. What else do you need for impeachment?" he added.

Beck brought in Frank Gaffney, the founder and president of the Center for Security Policy, to weigh in on the issue.

"It is certainly likely, not just possible, likely that we will have a regional conflagration in the Middle East within the year," Gaffney agreed.  "And will that translate - you point back to 1914 - will that translate to a world war?  It's entirely possible."

With regard to the law being waived, Gaffney remarked: "At a minimum, he is aiding unspecified terrorists and in practice, because the principle terrorist elements in Syria at the moment are Al Qaeda and their kissing cousins...the Muslim Brotherhood."

"So yes, he knows that's who's getting arms and probably funds and training, and he has to put this [little] law out of the way," Gaffney added.  "It's kind of refreshing that he actually notices there is a legal impediment to this kind of misconduct, but it does raise [the question], I think you're absolutely right -- has he crossed the red line into treason?"

Gaffney also spoke out about a man named Mohamed Elibiary, a member of the Homeland Security advisory council who he says has "extensive ties and unmistakable sympathies for the Muslim Brotherhood."

Despite the numerous red flags -- including Elibiary's successful efforts to have certain explanations of radical Islam purged from the training documents for members of the military and intelligence community -- it seems Elbiary just received a promotion.

"We've got an interview coming up [with] him in which he makes clear his affinity for the Muslim Brotherhood.  He makes clear it is his purpose to stop the prosecution of people in connection with material support for terrorism," Gaffney said.  "That's not something, I believe, we need informing our Homeland Security Department."

Beck concluded by strongly urging viewers enough to watch Gaffney's entire course on the Muslim Brotherhood at MuslimBrotherhoodInAmerica.com.
