Caught on Video: Dispute Over 41 Cents Incites Man to Punch Female Store Clerk in Face

Police are still searching for a man who they say punched a female store clerk in the face over a dispute totaling just 41 cents.

According to KCBS-TV, a 23-year-old they identified as "Yadira" was worknig the store on September 7 when a man attempted to purchase a $1.41 cigar with a sole $1 bill. When he was informed he would not be able to purchase the tobacco product, the man was inflamed to anger and hit the woman.

“He just says, ‘Well, this is all I have….(expletive) whatever.’ And I was like, ‘You need to get out of the store.’ I was like, ‘I’m sorry.’ And he tries to snatch it,” Yadira told KCBS, in tears.

“Really, over 41 cents? Imagine if he got like that — imagine what else would have happened. That’s the thing that came to my head. I hope it doesn’t ever happen to anybody,” she said. “There are cowards out there that are willing to do stupid stuff.”

None of the customers sprung to action to stop the suspect, police said.
