Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh blasted the media for placing the blame of a potential government shutdown solely on Republicans, essentially reinforcing the Democrats' narrative for them.
"It’s just flat-out journalistic malpractice. There is no pretense, there’s not even an objective pretense here to portray the Republican position on this anywhere near accurately," Limbaugh said.
He mocked the Washington Post and the Associated Press for publishing articles about the so-called consequences of a government shutdown. The Post noted that "you will no longer be able to watch the baby panda at the zoo online if the government shut down."
"What do we conclude? That Republicans hate animals, and Republicans hate the zoo," Limbaugh said. "It's just a repeat…of everything that's happened and been said before.
Limbaugh went on to call a report on the potential government shutdown by the Associated Press a "press release" for the Democrats.
"It is a multiple-hundred word hit piece," he said.
