This Is Why Ed Henry Says He Walked Out During a White House Press Briefing

"What happened was..."

Fox News White House correspondent Ed Henry denied Monday that he walked out of a White House press briefing as a protest after press secretary Jay Carney ignored his repeated questions.

Henry said the briefing started nearly three hours late and, he explained on Fox News Radio, he was worried if he didn't leave he would be late for a scheduled live appearance on "The Five."

“I was going to be late,” Henry said. “I would have stayed longer if Jay had called on me. But he didn’t. I had work to do.”

Henry did, however, note that Friday's briefing was the first time Carney — or any former White House press secretary — failed to call on him.

"[I] didn’t get a question," said Henry. "For whatever reason. I guess Jay Carney will have to answer that. I don’t know why, I guess, maybe he was upset. I wasn’t."
