Just in from Al Jazeera America (emphasis ours):
Time Warner Cable and Al Jazeera America today announced they have reached an agreement to bring Al Jazeera America to Time Warner Cable and Bright House Networks customers' lineups. The channel will be launched on digital basic in Time Warner Cable and Bright House Networks markets, including New York City, Los Angeles and Dallas, over the next six months. ...Al Jazeera America's agreement with Time Warner Cable and Bright House Networks will make the channel available to almost 55 million homes.
After Al Jazeera purchased the liberal Current network from Al Gore, Time Warner dropped the channel. At the time, that meant Al Jazeera America lost access to about 12 million homes, according to the Huffington Post.
Now, with the new deal between Time Warner and Al Jazeera America, those homes are getting the Qatar-based network back.
