Police in Webster, Texas, are investigating allegations that a teenager manipulated and pushed her underage friends into prostitution and profited off of their sexual encounters with a local man.
Chelsey Elizabeth Taylor, 17, is accused of driving girls as young as 14 to the home of Michael McIntosh, 62, a local business owner who would purportedly engage in sexual relations with the teens in exchange for money, KTRK-TV reported.
Police say the girls involved in the alleged arrangement called McIntosh "Money Mike," due to the fact that he would purportedly spend thousands of dollars on them.
One of the girls told authorities that victims were paid "$1,000 per encounter" and investigators believe that McIntosh took a cut of the money.
So far, police have identified eight victims and have received calls from three additional individuals. KHOU-TV reported that authorities believe there could be 15 girls involved.
One of Taylor's neighbors called the case "very disturbing" and "shocking."
"It started in the summer time and went on for a few months," Webster Police Detective David Nettles told KTRK.
The details are still unclear, but according to KHOU investigators said that Taylor and McIntosh met when the teenager was a host at Ojos Locos, a sports bar and restaurant.
Authorities believe Taylor began taking money for sex and, at some point, they allege that she began bringing her friends to McIntosh's home for the same purpose.
Taylor, who is free on $40,000 bond, is charged with compelling prostitution for her alleged role in the arrangement and McIntosh, who is also free on $120,000 bond, is charged with three counts of sexual assault of a child, according to KTRK.
The other girls will not be charged in the case.
Police began investigating the alleged prostitution ring after receiving a tip from the Clear Creek Independent School District.
