Man Buys House Next to Ex-Wife & Then Erects This Giant Statue as Message to Her

"How psychotic do you have to be to..."

A wealthy Detroit man, identified in several reports as strip club tycoon Alan Markovitz, reportedly purchased the home directly next to his ex-wife and erected a giant middle finger just to spite her.

The wild story first broke when a woman claiming to be the ex-wife's daughter revealed on Twitter that "Alan" bought the home and moved in with his daughter Tiffany. But he didn't just move in, he also put up a very expensive-looking bronze statue of a middle finger on the back porch aimed at his ex-wife's home.

Still, that wasn't enough. The man, believed to be Markovitz, then made sure his ex-wife could see the sculpture at all times by shining a spotlight on it during the night.

The woman claiming to be the ex-wife's daughter, identified as Lenka Tuohy in several reports, tweeted out pictures of the massive middle finger.

“How psychotic do you have to be to buy the house directly next to your ex wife and then put a statue up like that?!?! Real classy alan,” Tuohy tweeted Nov. 11.

She tweeted the next day that it's now "hard for me to enjoy my baths now because my fav tub is in my moms bathroom which faces out towards tif and alans house:("

Gawker also notes a previous report from Deadline Detroit that may help add context to the whole situation:

Markovitz has a 17-year-old daughter from a previous relationship who lives with him. He was married for two years to a woman he met at a friend's birthday party at an Auburn Hills restaurant. But they recently divorced. He said his wife, a native of Slovakia, was cheating on him with someone he knew. She moved in with the guy two days after moving out of the house.

"He broke the Man Code. He’s a total freakin’ a**hole,” Markovitz says. “Real men don’t do that to another guy."
