Notable & Quotable: Students riot in demonstration of true collegiate maturity

Students at Michigan State University rioted over the weekend after their school's No. 10 football team defeated No. 2 Ohio State, earning their first trip to the Rose Bowl in more than two decades. According to police, thousands of students took to the streets of East Lansing, Mich., Saturday night and the AP reports that the rowdy crowd lit fires across campus, fed with uprooted small trees, a bicycle and even fire extinguishers.

"This is MSU. This is what we do, man," one student told WILX. "We go big or we go home."

"I see it as a great thing," another rioter exclaimed. "You got to understand that people are out here together, in spirit, enjoying themselves in celebration."

...Because nothing says "school spirit" quite like arson and arrest records, apparently.
