Hit-And-Run Victim Wants to Find Driver for a Surprising Reason

Gregory Adams from Tacoma, Wash., was the victim of a hit-and-run incident in September. As a result of his injuries, Adams' life changed dramatically.

Now, several months later, Adams is seeking out the person who hit him and fled, but it's not for reasons you might think.

Instead of seeking justice or revenge, KOMO-TV reported that Adams wants to say "God bless you."

While Adams told the news station "there is no good reason" for someone to hit another person and drive away, "it's nothing that can't be forgiven."

Considering that Adams now lives in a rehab facility as he recovers from severe injuries, lost his lawn care business and was the the victim of theft since the accident, such forgiveness might seem like a tough pill to swallow.

But he told KOMO there are reasons he might be more apt to forgive.

"Things haven't always been peaches and cream," Adams said of his life. "I did 17 years in prison. From the ages of 17 until I was 34."

Adams served the time for attempted murder and armed robbery.

"So that's why I'm willing to forgive because I've done a few things in my past," he said.

Adams is hoping the public can encourage whoever hit him to come forward. He also told the news station that he doesn't think police ever received surveillance footage that could lead to the identity of the driver that hit him after he had purchased M&Ms from a gas station.

In addition to offering his forgiveness, Adams told KOMO he wants to ask the driver "how has your life been since September 8th?"
