What's the Reason for the Giant, Mysterious Amazon Box Parked in Wisconsin?

"What's the largest item you can have shipped from Amazon?"

Park a giant box marked Amazon on a flatbed truck in Madison, Wis., and you're bound to cause a stir.

"What's the largest item you can have shipped from Amazon? Because I think my neighbor just got it," a Redditor going by the username listrophy wrote Monday on the social news site.

The photo taken by this Redditor's colleague of the giant box caused many to speculate about what exactly could be inside.

Ideas included:

  • A car
  • A boat
  • A SD card (sarcastic, because these cards are actually very small)

A Redditor going by Brett_Favre_4 might have been closer to the mark, joking that it held "a marketing team."

A local coffee shop, confirmed Brett_Favre_4's idea, saying it was actually part of a commercial.

Bendyworks, a company located across the street from the box, tweeted that it might take a tip from Amazon.

Update: An Amazon spokesperson returned an inquiry from TheBlaze confirming the box was used in a commercial, but it wasn't an Amazon commercial. The commercial was for Nissan and, as many speculated, the box held a Nissan Versa Note.

The spokesperson said Amazon is not selling or delivering cars, but the giant box is part of a marketing program the company had with Nissan last year.
