At First...It Made Me Laugh': Catholic Bishop Releases Video Lambasting Cuomo's Comments About 'Extreme Conservatives

"...then it made me deeply concerned."

Bishop Richard Malone recently released a video hitting back at New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo's contentious claims about "extreme conservatives" having no place in the state of New York.

After praising the thousands who showed up for this year's March for Life, Malone, bishop of Buffalo, N.Y., said that 56 million unborn babies "have had their lives legally taken from them" since Roe v. Wade became the law of the land in 1973.

Going on to decry Cuomo's "rant" about conservatives who are "right-to-life," Malone said that the governor's own partisan claims were extreme in their own regard.

"And the governor of New York state actually said that there's no place for us if we are pro-life in the state of New York," the bishop said. "Now he is speaking of extremism and I think that comment is the best example of extremism  I've heard for a long time. At first it was so outrageous that it made me laugh. Then it made me deeply concerned."

Malone said that Cuomo and his supporters on the abortion issue "want to make [New York] the abortion capital of the country."
