As reported in Politico's playbook:
“Louise Burke, President and Publisher of Threshold Editions, an imprint of Simon & Schuster, announced today the publication of Matt Katz’s biography of New Jersey Governor Chris Christie. Matt Katz has covered Chris Christie extensively as a reporter. For three years he wrote stories about Christie almost daily for the Philadelphia Inquirer while posting more than 500 entries in his blog, ‘The Christie Chronicles.’ … Katz recently left the Inquirer to cover Christie for WNYC and New Jersey Public Radio. … The currently untitled biography is scheduled for publication in Spring 2015.”
As we noted back in November, Katz has been a devoted member of the Christie beat, a job "like watching a 24/7 made-for-tv production."
In a piece at Politico Magazine, Katz described the New Jersey Governor as "his own news outlet."
While Katz has focused on Christie's pre-Bridgegate media savvy, readers may also be interested in a 2012 book by authors Bob Ingle and Michael Symons titled "Chris Christie: The Inside Story of His Rise to Power" on the governor's political acumen. The book describes how the now embattled governor rose from being bounced from a position as a New Jersey county freeholder following a loss in a New Jersey Assembly race, shunned by his party, out of office and vowing to never run again at the age of 35 back in 1998, to U.S. Attorney in 2002 to governor in 2010.
