Caught on Video: Man's Attempt to Set Free a Baby Moose Takes a Painful Turn

"You wouldn't believe I just got my butt kicked by a calf moose."

A baby moose, captured briefly for a wildlife study in Maine, had no qualms showing her captor just what she thought about being tied up when she was set free.

After Wes Livingston, who was conducting a survey for a Department of Wildlife study, removed the blindfold and cords on the moose's legs, she attacked him.

"Aw, you're a mean little girl," he said while still lying on the ground as the moose came in for round two.

Once Livingston was on his feet, he tried to drive off the moose, which was tagged as number 50, but she stood her ground, staring him down.

"First time I ever got beat up by a baby moose," Livingston said. "You wouldn't believe I just got my butt kicked by a calf moose."

At one point, he picked up a stick and threw it at the calf, finally frightening her off.

"They build 'em pretty tough in Maine," Livingston said.

The Bangor Daily News noted that Livingston is a contractor for New Mexico-based Aero Tech.
