The magnitude 5.1 earthquake that struck near Los Angeles Friday night became something of an surprise special effect for those attending the opening weekend of the "Noah" movie starring Russell Crowe.

For some moviegoers — given the variation of start times at different theaters — the quake hit during particularly poignant scenes, noted The Wire and Mashable.
