Nothing Could Prepare Her for What Would Happen After She Threw Out the First Pitch

An 8-year-old girl got the surprise of her life Friday night after she tossed the ceremonial first pitch out at BB&T Stadium.

As she took the mound, Isabella Elmore watched a message from her dad, who is a member of the U.S. Navy, that had been recorded the day before in Germany, according to WCNC-TV.

What the 8-year-old didn't realize was that the catcher was actually her father.

After she tossed out the first pitch, he walked toward the mound to return the ball. That's when Elmore finally recognized her dad and welcomed him with open arms.
