"That’s what’s amazing."

MSNBC’s Chuck Todd and Fox News’ Ed Henry were caught on a hot mic mocking Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) while waiting for President Barack Obama’s Thursday press conference on the Iraq crisis to begin.

Todd first jokingly asked if anyone had “checked on” McCain after Gen. David Petraeus recently came out against military action in Iraq, saying the U.S. can’t be the Air Force for Iraq’s militias. On Wednesday, McCain argued that the United States should "go in, we use airpower, we get some boots on the ground, a few that can identify targets."

“I’ve got to think McCain must have had heart palpitations,” Todd joked.

“What’s funny is that McCain was on our air an hour ago saying we should send Petraeus to Iraq,” Henry replied.

“That’s what’s amazing. He’s wanting Petraeus to be like the guy, and Petraeus is saying, ‘Hey, we’re not taking sides...,” Todd replied.
