'Congresswoman!': Sparks Fly When Neil Cavuto Calls Out Michele Bachmann Over Obama Lawsuit ‘Charade’

"I think Democrats will be in their right mind to laugh you out now."

Fox News host Neil Cavuto got into a testy exchange with Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) on Wednesday over a new lawsuit filed by the U.S. house against the Obama administration for executive overreach. Cavuto called the lawsuit a “waste of time” and a “charade” while Bachmann argued President Barack Obama’s attempt to “establish lawlessness in the United States” is a big deal.

“You’ve been bemoaning it for a long time. Why now the suit? Why not just fix things that are very, very wrong now rather than dragging someone to court over whether they overstepped their bounds? It just seems to me like an enormous waste of effort,” Cavuto said.

Bachmann said she wasn’t sure why House Speaker John Boehner decided to file the lawsuit now, but added it’s an important issue that reflects the frustrations of the American people.

Cavuto then asked Bachmann where her “rage” was when Democrats were “going after President Bush on the same use of executive orders.”

“Because I think you knew then that was a waste of time then. I think you know in your heart of hearts this is a waste of time now,” he added.

When Bachmann later suggested that the House should “defund” the executive branch, Cavuto lost his cool.

“Wait, think about what you’re saying! Defund the executive branch, congresswoman!” the TV host shouted. “I think Democrats will be in their right mind to laugh you out now.”

Bachmann then said Congress has the “power of the purse” for a reason and also said lawmakers should also “impeach the elected officials who have broken the law”

“Man, oh man, Rome is burning and you’re filing!” Cavuto shot back.

The segment had gotten seriously heated when Cavuto had to go to a commercial break in the middle of a Bachmann rant.
