"The key to getting through the checkpoint faster is not to have items like this in your carry-on bags."

There are many things that people don't like about the rules, searches and scans imposed by the Transportation Security Administration, but something that doesn't get old — as we've pointed out before — are its pictures of things people tried to get through checkpoints.

While the TSA clearly posts a list of prohibited items, people either think they can outsmart the system or simply forget — and TSA documents some of the most outlandish things it has found on its Instagram feed.

Here are just a few.

"These knuckle knives were discovered in carry-on bags at the #NewYork Kennedy (#JFK) and #Honolulu (#HNL) International Airports," TSA wrote.

Each week, TSA also posts on its blog a record of some of the prohibited items that were found. From June 27 through July 2, for example, TSA confiscated 33 firearms, a stun gun cane, octagonal sais, shukos and more.
