Warning: The trailer for the new biopic about Stephen Hawking will probably make you cry

I'm not a guy who makes plans to see movies on the first day they are released. That's something I stopped doing in my early 20s.

However, that may have just changed.

The movie trailer attached here inspired me to set an automated reminder in my phone's appointment calendar. "Go see 'The Theory of Everything' on November 7, 2014."

What is "The Theory of Everything" about? Here's the synopsis from the movie company's YouTube post.

Starring Eddie Redmayne (“Les Misérables”) and Felicity Jones (“The Amazing Spider-Man 2”), this is the extraordinary story of one of the world’s greatest living minds, the renowned astrophysicist Stephen Hawking, who falls deeply in love with fellow Cambridge student Jane Wilde. Once a healthy, active young man, Hawking received an earth-shattering diagnosis at 21 years of age. With Jane fighting tirelessly by his side, Stephen embarks on his most ambitious scientific work, studying the very thing he now has precious little of – time. Together, they defy impossible odds, breaking new ground in medicine and science, and achieving more than they could ever have dreamed. The film is based on the memoir Travelling to Infinity: My Life with Stephen, by Jane Hawking, and is directed by Academy Award winner James Marsh (“Man on Wire”).

I'm a fan of Hawking's work, inspired by the courage and drive he has exhibited in his fight against ALS, and I loved director James Marsh's Oscar-winning film, "Man on Wire."

This looks like a must-see for me.

The trailer was released two days ago, in two different versions -- one for the U.S. and a "global version." (This was was due to different release dates, America gets the movie on November 7 and the global audiences will have to wait until January 1, 2015.)

Watch the trailer.

There are a couple of curious sidebars to this story that I feel compelled to point out to you.

At the 16 second mark of both trailers, a strange bit of animation appears saying "Working Title."

Was it a mistake? We are not certain. But, it is not unusual for an editor to build a video and put a placeholder in a spot where items like the official title will be inserted after everything has been finalized.

(Update: After publishing the story, we learned "Working Title" is the name of the film's production company. Mystery solved.)

And, although they are identical in their promotional content, the British version has already garnered more than 1.3 million views. The trailer for the American release of "The Theory of Everything" has been seen fewer than 10,000 times.

"The Theory of Everything" opens on November 7 in America. Unless Glenn manages to get a pre-screener that I can talk him into sharing, I'll be there on opening day.
