Watch the 'Disgusting' Wendy Davis Ad That's Being Condemned as a 'Historic Low
October 10, 2014
"It is challenging to find language strong enough to condemn Sen. Davis’ disgusting television ad..."
A new campaign ad put out by Texas state Sen. Wendy Davis is being slammed as “disgusting” and a “historic low" by the campaign of her gubernatorial opponent Greg Abbott.
The ad gets personal, accusing Abbott of spending his career “working against other victims” after he was struck by a falling tree and left paralyzed in 1984. The ad states that Abbott “sued and got millions.”
The narrator speaks over an image of a wheelchair.
“Greg Abbott, he’s not for you,” the narrator says.
Watch the ad below:
The Abbott campaign responded to the ad with a stern statement condemning the Democrat’s “disturbing lack of judgement.”
“It is challenging to find language strong enough to condemn Sen. Davis’ disgusting television ad, which represents a historic low for someone seeking to represent Texans. Sen. Davis’ ad shows a disturbing lack of judgment from a desperate politician and completely disqualifies her from seeking higher office in Texas,” Abbott spokeswoman Amelia Chasse said.
Davis is the underdog in the Texas governor's race against Abbott.
