On Halloween, eliciting a good ol' fashioned scare is frequently part of the evening's fun.
And if you're looking for ideas, the PrankvsPrank folks have themselves a good one.
They had a woman dress up as the notorious dead girl from the horror flick "The Ring" — complete with long black hair covering her face, lacy white nightgown and goulish makeup.
Her task? Simply jump out and growl at unsuspecting pedestrians.
As you can see from most of the reactions in the video, such a scenario makes it pretty easy to get a scare, even on well-traveled, brightly lit city streets:
She almost found herself in a scrum with one perturbed woman before her less-frightened male companion smoothed things out:
It's amazing how long it takes people to figure out it's a joke:
She even managed to scare a black cat (who got the dead girl a bit freaked out, too):
The best scare? When she greeted a group looking quite coffeehouse chic; two of the guys easily won the award for best coming-unglued-moment of the clip:
Is there anything more satisfying than watching hipster fellas getting their scarves and caps all in a bunch?
Here's the clip (content warning — as you might expect, some of the frightened reactions include swearing):
