"Dr. Ben Carson went in as a neurosurgeon and came out as a complete idiot."
Not once, not twice, not thrice, but four separate segments — that's how many times the "Saturday Night Live" faux newscasters ripped into Dr. Ben Carson for his controversial comments on homosexuality.
Carson has come under fire for saying homosexuality is a choice, citing as an example those who “go into prison straight — and when they come out, they’re gay.”
“[I]n that last sentence, Dr. Ben Carson went in as a neurosurgeon and came out as a complete idiot,” said "SNL" newscaster Michael Che this week.
Che and his co-host Colin Jost proceeded to tear apart Carson in four separate bits, declaring Carson effectively "no longer a candidate for president."

On Twitter, viewers seemed to react overwhelmingly positively to the "SNL" onslaught, praising the show for, "roast[ing] the life out of Ben Carson."

Carson took 11 percent of the vote in the 2015 Conservative Political Action Committee straw poll last month, and his supporters say he could run a successful presidential campaign because of potential cross-racial appeal, but in the wake of his comments on homosexuality, the "SNL" newscasters are far from the only ones declaring Carson's presidential chances to be dead.
Carson has apologized for his comments on homosexuality and prison.
