Late Late Show' Host Can't Believe April Fools' Day Prank Katie Couric Pulls on Him: 'Oh My God!

New "Late Late Show" host James Corden was left stunned Wednesday when Katie Couric perfectly executed an April Fools' Day prank on him.

Couric had a stunt double take a nasty fall down the stairs of Studio 56 at the beginning of the show's segment, leaving Corden terrified for her safety.

Rushing over to help, Corden asked the stunt double if she was okay (not immediately recognizing that it wasn't in fact Couric). Moments later, he learned he had been tricked.

"Oh my gosh!" the late-night host said, laughing on the floor.

"Oh my God! Oh my God! You're ridiculous. That's ridiculous!" he added.

After the segment got underway, Corden said someone falling down the stairs was one of his worst "nightmares."

"We've been talking about these stairs, going back and forth," he said.
