“Keep your hands off our guns, dammit.”

Outspoken Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke will host a weekly, one-hour podcast on TheBlaze Radio Network. Known as "the people's sheriff," Clarke gained national recognition in 2013 after telling residents to learn how to use a gun.

“With officers laid off and furloughed, simply calling 911 and waiting is no longer your best option,” Clarke said. “You can beg for mercy from a violent criminal, hide under the bed, or you can fight back. But are you prepared?”

Clarke also gave a rousing speech at the 2014 NRA convention, receiving a standing ovation after saying he would add seven words to the Second Amendment: “Keep your hands off our guns, dammit.”

David Clarke: The People's Sheriff will focus on law enforcement issues, knowing your rights, commentary on current affairs, racial issues, 2nd Amendment matters and the importance of empowering individuals rather than the state.

"Sheriff Clarke calls it like it is -- with an emphasis on common sense and individual responsibility," Dom Theodore, TheBlaze Radio Network's VP of Programming, said. "I'm thrilled to have him join our lineup of amazing talent at TheBlaze Radio Network, where we are committed to being a leader in digital spoken word content."

Clarke added: "What an honor to be a part of TheBlaze Radio Network! This podcast is an opportunity to add to the conversation of well-thought-out reason on issues confronting America. I look forward to being a part of TheBlaze family, working to keep the public well informed."

Clarke's show will air on Saturdays beginning on June 6th. He appeared on Glenn Beck's radio program Tuesday to discuss the announcement:
