Major Democrat 'Getting the Old Gang Together' to See 'If There's a Path' for 2016 Run: Report

“It feels more real than it has in the past months.”

Former Vice President Al Gore is looking into a possible 2016 run for the White House, BuzzFeed reported Thursday, citing sources.

"They're getting the old gang together," a senior Democrat told BuzzFeed.

“They’re figuring out if there’s a path financially and politically,” the Democrat added. “It feels more real than it has in the past months.”

The news comes as Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton finds herself swimming in questions about her personal email server. A recent poll in New Hampshire showed her down several points to Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, an outright socialist.

Now it seems other prominent Democrats are considering taking a shot at capturing the party nomination. It was recently reported that Vice President Joe Biden was considering the idea. Now, Gore, who has been absent from the public eye, is reportedly taking it into consideration.

A member of Gore's inner circle told BuzzFeed that he or she was "pouring lukewarm water" on the idea.

ABC News confirmed the reports, tweeting that former aides are raising the idea with Gore.
