Greta Van Susteren Shares Why She Thinks Donald Trump 'Could Win' the Republican Nomination
September 07, 2015
Fox News host Greta Van Susteren turned to her blog Monday morning to break down why she thinks presidential hopeful Donald Trump might have a shot at capturing the Republican nomination.
Writing on Gretawire, the news personality suggested that voters are upset with the GOP establishment for not carrying out what was promised to voters.
"Republicans are now asking themselves: what has the House and Senate accomplished since the Republicans have taken over and hold the majority in each?" Van Susteren wrote.
She continued, "For example, the Republicans all ran on and promised simplification of the Tax Code but it is still filled with 3500 plus loopholes — and you know what loopholes are, special deals for special interests."
"Anything accomplished by the Republican held Congress? Tell me," Van Susteren added.
The "On the Record" host contended that people "are sick of 'business as usual'" which puts the Republican establishment "in trouble."
She noted that former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina and neurosurgeon Ben Carson are also "strong possibilities." Trump, Fiorina and Carson have all performed well in the polls, with the billionaire real estate mogul leading the pack by a wide margin.
