NORTHFIELD, Vt. (TheBlaze/AP) — An Amtrak train has derailed in central Vermont.
Several media outlets reported Monday morning that Vermont State Police and local fire and rescue agencies were responding to the scene in Northfield, about 10 miles southwest of Montpelier.

A spokesman for the Montpelier Fire Department told Fox News that four people were taken to the hospital with injuries.

The incident happened around 10:30 a.m. when two train cars went over an embankment, WPTZ-TV reported.
A hospital representative said 98 people were on board the train, which was traveling from St. Albans, Vermont, to Washington, D.C.

Amtrak said there are no reports of any life-threatening injuries.
