Trump Campaign Releases Details on Event He Will Host in Lieu of Attending Fox News Debate

Republican frontrunner Donald Trump's campaign released some details Wednesday evening about the special event he plans to host in lieu of attending the Fox News debate.

The free Thursday event aimed at benefitting veterans organizations will take place at the same time as the GOP debate and will be held at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa.

The Trump campaign said the doors would open at 5 p.m. local time, with the pre-program beginning at 7:00 p.m. and the event starting at 8:00 p.m.

"Additional details" would be made available later, the Trump campaign said. A representative for the campaign did not immediately respond to an inquiry from TheBlaze asking for additional logistical information.

Trump sent shockwaves rippling through the political community when he announced Tuesday he would not participate in the Fox News debate — the final debate for Monday's Iowa caucus.
