Boston Dynamics Shows Off New Robot in Video — Take a Look at Humanoid’s ‘Impressive’ Capabilities

"Only a few months ago, that kind of resiliency was almost unheard of."

Meet the latest version of Atlas.

A video posted late Tuesday by manufacturer Boston Dynamics — a company owned by Google's parent company, Alphabet — showed off the upgraded robot's capabilities.

Such capabilities include the ability to open doors, walk on uneven snowy terrain and squat to pick up boxes.

But what really caught the eye of many was the humanoid's new ability to endure abuse. When pushed from behind, for instance, the robot was able to quickly determine how to get back on its feet — something hailed as "impressive" by the MIT Technology review.

"Only a few months ago, that kind of resiliency was almost unheard of," it said.
