As promised, former Republican presidential candidate Rand Paul made his 2016 endorsement Friday — a backing that he guaranteed would be "YUGE."
But really, Paul just wanted to have a little fun on April Fools' Day.

"Yes Twitter, I am just celebrating #AprilFools," Paul tweeted Friday morning with the hashtag, "#endorsingentropy."
In a series of tweets Thursday, the social media-savvy Kentucky senator teased the upcoming endorsement with several thinly veiled references to GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump.
I have a major endorsement announcement to make tomorrow. Stay tuned...— Senator Rand Paul (@Senator Rand Paul) 1459445874.0
The announcement is going to be YUGE. Don't miss it...

Wow, many many people tell me the announcement is the best announcement anyone has ever seen. So much winning...

While Trump generally takes to Twitter to complain, Paul is known for using the social media platform to participate in Festivus and to live tweet a Democratic presidential debate.
The libertarian-leaning senator ended his presidential campaign in February.
