Actor Steve Carrell's Mom Dies One Day Before Mother's Day

ACTON, Mass. (TheBlaze/AP) — Steve Carrell has announced that his mother died a day before Mother's Day.

The 53-year-old actor has posted on Twitter that Harriett Carell died Saturday at the age of 90, adding a simple note, "Love You Mom."

Carell also retweeted this message and photo of him and his mother.

Carell's publicist confirmed the death.

Kathleen Doran Boyle, who's the director of Acton Funeral Home in Massachusetts, says Harriet Carell died at her Acton home surrounded by family.

Aside from Steve, an online obituary says she has three other children and is survived by six grandchildren.
