Donald Trump Still Has No Idea How Many Years of Tax Returns the IRS Is Auditing

Donald Trump said Wednesday he was still not sure how many years of his tax returns are under audit by the Internal Revenue Service.

The comment from the presumptive Republican nominee came when Fox News Channel host Greta Van Susteren asked about his intention to release the documents.

"I'm being audited," Trump said.

[sharequote align="right"]"I don't know. I would have to ask."[/sharequote]

"But what about the returns that aren’t being audited?" Van Susteren asked.

"No, no, there’s a link but it goes way back," Trump replied.

"How far back are you being audited?" Van Susteren pressed.

"I don't know," Trump said. "I would have to ask."

The real estate mogul then made an unclear comment, saying that "there is a link between that and other things."

"Link with what?" Van Susteren asked.

The Fox host did not get an answer.

Trump's tax returns became a big issue Wednesday when the Associated Press reported he didn't intend to release them until after the election, something Trump denied. Romney then piled on, writing on Facebook that it was "disqualifying" for him not to release the documents and predicting a "bombshell of unusual size" was resting in them.
