James Rosen: It's 'Stunning' State Dept. Thought It 'Could Get Away' With Deleting Video

Fox News Chief Washington Correspondent said Wednesday that he was stunned to learn video of him grilling a State Department spokeswoman had mysteriously been edited out of the agency's records.

"We couldn't believe it," Rosen said on "The Five."

The State Department said this week that a "glitch" had resulted in Rosen's questioning disappearing from video of a 2013 press conference.

But, Rosen said he wasn't buying it.

"It's just stunning to me that they think they could get away with this deletion," he said. "They deleted it, not only on their website where they archive all videos of the briefings, but on their State Department YouTube channel."

Rosen said other journalists who cover the State Department had hounded the agency with questions over the last two days, but added that he believed the State Department remained hopeful the issue would eventually disappear.

"I think they're hoping it will go away," he said.

The discovery 2013 video had disappeared came on the heels of deputy national security advisor Ben Rhodes admitting to The New York Times that the Obama administration manipulated inexperienced reporters to sway public opinion on the Iran deal.
