Trump Launches Fiery Attack on Obama Over Orlando Attack: ‘Not Tough, Not Smart or He’s Got Something Else in Mind’

"They cannot believe that President Obama is acting the ways he acts."

Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump called President Barack Obama’s response to Sunday’s mass shooting in Orlando, Florida, “inconceivable” during a telephone interview Monday on Fox News' "Fox and Friends."

"He doesn't get it, or he gets it better than anybody understands,” Trump said.

“It's one or the other," Trump continued. "And either one is unacceptable, No. 1, and No. 2, calling on another gun ban, I mean, this man has no clue. First of all, the shooter was licensed. So he went through all the procedures, he was fully licensed to have a gun. So he would have passed the test that the president would have thrown up there."

"It's so ridiculous," Trump added. "You know, this is a, this is a mentality, this is a state. And you have thousands of shooters like this with the same mentality out there in this country, and we're bringing thousands and thousands of them back into this country, and into the country every year."

During remarks at the White House Sunday, Obama said, “Although it’s still early in the investigation, we know enough to say that this was an act of terror and an act of hate.”

“Today marks the most deadly shooting in American history,” Obama said. “The shooter was apparently armed with a handgun and a powerful assault rifle. This massacre is therefore a further reminder of how easy it is for someone to get their hands on a weapon that lets them shoot people in a school, or in a house of worship, or a movie theater, or in a nightclub. And we have to decide if that’s the kind of country we want to be. And to actively do nothing is a decision as well.”

Following the attack in Florida, Trump fired off a series of controversial tweets, one of which called for the president’s resignation.

During his interview on Fox and Friends, Trump defended his position.

"We're led by a man who is a very, look, we're led by a man that either is, is not tough, not smart, or he's got something else in mind," Trump said. "And the something else in mind, you know, people can't believe it. People cannot, they cannot believe that President Obama is acting the ways he acts and can't even mention the words radical Islamic terrorism. There's something going on. It's inconceivable."
