Watch: Fort Worth police officer shares touching moment with a little fan
March 28, 2017
In a moment of pure "aww" a little boy and a Fort Worth, Texas, police officer shared a touching moment that has gone viral.
Jamie Hubbard, mother of 3-year-old T.J., decided to take her son to a McDonald's one rainy day. Also at the fast food restaurant was Fort Worth Police Officer Colter.
According to Fox News, Hubbard says T.J. is a big fan of motorcycles, and Colter had joked about letting T.J. take a spin on Colter's police bike, but said that his boss probably wouldn't like that. Regardless, Colter ran out into the rain and got a police badge sticker for T.J. as a gift.
Hubbard says her son is usually very shy, and not big on hugs, but her son definitely wanted to give one to Colter in thanks for his kindness.
Hubbard captured the interaction on camera, with T.J. approaching Colter unsure of how to proceed. To help her son along, Hubbard tells him "he wanted to give you a hug." The officer happily gave the 3-year-old a hug, and T.J. then ran back to his mom.
“We are extremely grateful for those that protect our freedom, whether it is overseas or in our local community,” Hubbard said. “It is more important now than ever that our children learn that these officers are wives and husbands, moms and dads, and they are there to be their friend and to help keep them safe.”
