Port Authority commissioner bullies cops, tells them to 'shut the f*** up!' Now she's out of a job.

A New Jersey Port Authority commissioner who touted her status and told two New Jersey cops to "shut the f*** up" during a traffic stop, which didn't involve her, has resigned, the New York Daily News reported.

What happened?

Caren Turner, the former chairman of the Port Authority's Governance and Ethics Committee, belittled the Tenafly officers who pulled over the driver of a Toyota Corolla with Nevada plates, which was carrying three passengers, including Turner's adult daughter, over Easter weekend.

Soon after Turner arrived on the scene to pick up the college students who'd been riding in the car, she pulled out her badge and business card, showed the police and demanded answers. Former Gov. Chris Christie (R) appointed Turner as a Port Authority commissioner in March 2017.

Turner became agitated when one of the officers told her to ask the driver of the car.

One of the officers called Turner "miss," and she quickly reprimanded him and instructed him to address her as "commissioner."

Initially, the cops pulled over the driver for having tinted side windows and a partially covered license plate. They soon found that the car's registration was expired, and the driver had no insurance card to present, which prompted them to have the vehicle impounded.

The officers, who maintained their composure and spoke respectfully to Turner, would not share the details of the traffic stop with the woman because they said the driver and Turner's daughter were over the age of 18.

What did the former commissioner say?

Turner said she's "heading up over 4,000 police officers" and insisted it was her "business" to know exactly why the college students were pulled over and repeatedly dropped names of elected officials.

The woman scolded the officers for inconveniencing her and the four "Ph.D. students" from "Yale and M.I.T." as she continued stepping in closer and closer to one of them.

"Ma'am, take a step back. I can't move back any farther and you keep stepping toward me," the cop said as he backed up to his car.

Turner told the men they were a "disappointment" and that she would be reporting them.

“Shame on both of you. I will be talking with the chief of police, and I will be speaking with the mayor,” she said.

Finally, the officer told Turner she could take her daughter and her friends home.

"You may not tell me when to take my child. You may shut the f*** up and not tell me when I can take my kid and her friends who are Ph.D. students from MIT and Yale," she said. "You may tell me nothing."

What did the Port Authority say?

In a statement posted by New Jersey On-Line, the agency said:

The Port Authority has zero tolerance for ethics violations. This is the basis of the tough, systematic integrity reforms the Port Authority has implemented over the past year. Immediately upon learning of allegations that Commissioner Turner violated the Board's newly-enacted Code of Ethics, an Inspector General investigation was begun. The investigation revealed conduct that was profoundly disturbing. After Commissioner Turner became aware of the investigation, she resigned.

What else?

Turner received a law degree from Georgetown University and served on the National Finance Committee for Hillary Clinton's presidential bid, according to her company bio.
