High school principal blames AI for audio recording that said 'black kids can't test their way out of a paper bag'

A Baltimore high school principal is under investigation for an alleged audio recording of the man making disparaging remarks about black students and complaints from Jews.

Baltimore County Public Schools installed new leadership at Pikesville High School while the district conducted an investigation into a strange audio recording, allegedly of Principal Eric Eiswert.

"I seriously don't understand why I have to constantly put up with these dumb asses here every day," the recording said. "Between these ungrateful black kids who can't test their way out of a paper bag or these teachers who don't get it. How hard is it to get these students to meet their grade-level expectations?"

"If I have to get one more complaint from one more Jew in this community, I'm going to join the other side," the audio added.

The recording also reportedly referred to another district employee, saying, "I'm going to drag his black ass out of here one way or another."

The audio was originally posted to an Instagram page called "murder_ink_bmore," which also alleged that Eiswert was "also accused of racist comments years ago when he was at Catonsville High School."

"We believe that it is AI generated. He did not say that," said Billy Burke, executive director of the Baltimore County administrator's union. "If I were in that position my heart would be a little broken today," he continued, according to the Daily Mail.

"He denounces [the comments], and he did not make those statements," Burke added.

District executive director of high schools Kyria Joseph stated that an investigative body was immediately notified of the incident, and that they are looking into the matter.

"Although BCPS cannot confirm the veracity of this recording at this time, we are taking this matter seriously and have launched an investigation," she announced.

Superintendent Dr. Myriam Rogers took a different approach to the incident in a press conference, stating that it was important for students to have any questions answered about the story, rather than "internalizing" their issues.

"Our message, as a school system, is that we truly welcome all of the students, and we want all of our schools to be places where they thrive," Rogers told reporters, as per WBAL-TV 11. "I would encourage them to have those conversations with counselors, with teachers and other staff that they've made positive connections with, so that they are not internalizing those feelings," she added.

District officials reportedly could not say whether they have any information in regard to the audio being AI-generated. The principal's employment status was also not clarified.
