Biden warns unvaccinated Americans will ultimately 'end up paying the price'

President Joe Biden on Monday warned Americans that those who refuse to get vaccinated will ultimately "end up paying the price" for not doing so.

The threat did not resonate with everyone.

What are the details?

Fox News reported Biden declared during a news conference that COVID-19 cases "are down in all 50 states" and announced that the U.S. would now send more coronavirus vaccines to other countries.

After noting that COVID-19 deaths are down 81% in the U.S. from a year ago, the president said, "I can't promise that will continue this way. We know there will be advances and setbacks and we know that flareups could occur. But if the unvaccinated get vaccinated, they'll protect themselves and other unvaccinated people around them.

"If they do not," he continued, "states with low vaccination rates may see those rates go up, may see this progress, reversed.

"Ultimately, those who are not vaccinated will end up paying the price," he added. "The vaccinated will continue to be protected against severe illnesses, but others may not be if you're not vaccinated."

What was the reaction online?

Reactions to Biden's message on Twitter were mixed.

"Im getting the vax but imma be real this makes me not want to lmao," one person wrote.

Someone else tweeted, "If trump had said this, there'd have been cries for impeachment and tyranny. I'm not saying you gotta be a trump person, or a biden person. But at least recognize the hypocrisy and pavlovian conditioning the media is putting you through."

One person reasoned, "I've come down with COVD, and have fully recovered since then. I see no reason to take the vaccine, especially when it's the least deadly outbreak compared to others spanning 200 years, and segregating vaccinated from non-vaccinated is a violation of their Constitutional rights."

Yet, some praised the president's comments. One person tweeted, "I still don't see how anyone is even the slight bit skeptical, look at India right now and tell me you'd rather just not get the vax because some Facebook post said they're putting tracking chips in the vax, like they track us already we always have our cellphones with us so what."

A second wrote, "he's 100% right!!!!!!!!!!"

Another replied, "That's why I say make it mandatory. He's right on this that's the price."
