A 22-year-old Colorado woman is accused of committing several felony crimes against a man she had just met on Tinder. The woman duct-taped the 21-year-old victim, choked him with a belt, stabbed him, and then ordered food from DoorDash, according to police.
Lauren Marie Dooley used the dating app Tinder to entice a man to come to her Colorado Springs apartment on Sept. 28, police say. The two sat on the couch and talked for a while before the man said Dooley took off his clothes and performed oral sex on him.
"She then used duct tape to bind [the victim's] wrists together and ankles together," the affidavit said. "[The victim] found it odd, but consented to it. However, when Lauren produced a kitchen knife and demanded he get into her bedroom, [the victim] no longer consented to staying at the residence."
"Fearing Lauren would harm him with the knife, he obeyed and got into her bed," the affidavit stated. "Lauren climbed on top of him and proceeded to use the knife to cut his left shoulder."
"Lauren then used both her hands to apply direct pressure to [the victim’s] throat for approximately 20 seconds, making it difficult to breath," the affidavit read. "Lauren stopped, but only to procure a belt that she then placed around [the victim’s] neck. She tightened the belt for another 20 seconds, once more making it difficult to breath. When she took it off, she checked [the victim’s] neck for a pulse."
She reportedly forced the Tinder date to the bathtub to clean up the blood from the knife wound. Police said they found blood in the bathtub.
After choking and stabbing the victim, Dooley allegedly ordered food from DoorDash. Before the delivery person dropped off the food, the woman reportedly threatened the victim, "If you scream or say anything, I’ll kill you."
After eating, Dooley got into bed with the victim and fell asleep, according to documents.
"According to the affidavit, the victim said he felt Dooley’s knife under the blanket near his feet, so he somehow used it to cut his bonds," Law & Crime reported. "He accidentally woke Dooley when he bumped into a table, but he was able to get outside and call for help, according to the police."
The naked man ran into the parking lot of the Hill Apartments.
Witnesses claimed that Dooley threatened the victim as she smeared blood on her hands.
The man allegedly told Dooley, "You're going to kill me!"
Local resident Lauri Gloria told KRDO that she saw a naked man bleeding in the parking lot with Dooley nearby.
"It scares me. I mean I saw the gentleman," Gloria said. "He was cut pretty good, and to think that someone could do that is pretty scary."
"Pretty shocking to know somebody that lives right around the corner is capable of doing this," Gloria added. "This is really unexpected. All of our neighbors watch out for each other so I hope nothing like this happens again."
Colorado Springs Police Department officers arrived at the apartment complex around 5:43 p.m. They found the unnamed man bleeding from a laceration on his left arm.
Inside Dooley's apartment unit, police officers found a kitchen knife near the bed and several blood-soaked rags, according to the affidavit.
Dooley was arrested and charged with one felony count each of second-degree kidnapping, second-degree assault, and menacing, plus a misdemeanor charge of false imprisonment. Dooley faces up to 25 years in prison if convicted.
Dooley is scheduled to appear in El Paso County court on Oct. 6.
