Here's what protesters were screaming the two times they interrupted the Democratic debates
July 31, 2019
Both times protesters were demanding Democrats move to the left
In two separate incidents during the Democratic debates on Wednesday, candidates were interrupted and the event came to a halt as protesters chanted political slogans.
In the first interruption, protesters were demanding the firing of New York Police Officer Daniel Pantaleo, who caused the death of Eric Garner through a chokehold implemented during an arrest.

It was unclear what that had to do with Booker's presidential campaign, but it may have been aimed at New York City Major Bill de Blasio, who also shared the stage. De Blasio was later challenged about why the police officer had not yet been fired over the controversial event.
Booker's social media account praised the protesters:
"To the folks who were standing up to Mayor de Blasio a few minutes ago—good for you," he tweeted. "That's how change is made."
In the second interruption, former Vice President Joe Biden appeared confused as protesters chanted about deportation of illegal aliens.
A woman screamed while holding a large pink sign that read, "stop all deportations on day one."

Wednesday's event was the second night of the second pair of debates for the Democratic nomination to face President Donald Trump in the 2020 election.
